What happens when two people spend months focusing on healing, counseling, boundaries, emotional growth, accountability, and getting closer to God… while the loudest voices around them focus almost entirely on fear, accusations, investigations, and character attacks?
That question has stayed in my mind for a long time now.
Because one of the strangest parts of this entire situation has been watching the massive difference between what we are actually doing… and what certain people claim we are doing.
At Empowered by Silence, most of what we write about is healing.
Not revenge.
Not humiliation.
Not destruction.
Healing.
What We Are Actually Doing
We write about:
healing from unhealthy dynamics,
learning boundaries,
overcoming shame and anxiety,
finding your voice,
processing pain honestly,
improving communication,
and becoming healthier emotionally and spiritually.
We write about counseling.
We write about accountability.
We write about emotional regulation.
We write about forgiveness.
We write about faith.
We write about growth.
Even when discussing painful situations publicly, the focus repeatedly comes back to:
“How do people heal?”
“How do people stop repeating destructive cycles?”
“How do people regain peace?”
“How do people become emotionally safe again?”
That matters.
Because what I continue seeing from some of the loudest opposing voices looks nothing like healing.
Fear Without Evidence
For months now, there have been warnings, investigations, whispers, anonymous messages, assumptions, and repeated claims that I am dangerous, manipulative, predatory, deceptive, or unsafe.
And yet despite all of that dramatic language, there has still not been a single concrete piece of evidence publicly produced to support those claims.
Not one.
Instead, what exists is:
“trust us”
“we know men”
“we’ve heard things”
“people are saying”
“there are red flags”
“we documented things”
Okay.
Then show it.
Because if someone truly believed a grown woman was in immediate danger, genuinely trapped with an unsafe man, you would expect clear evidence, direct communication, specifics, and honesty with the person supposedly at risk. Especially when that person is your own family member who you claim is naive, vulnerable, incapable of discernment, or unable to think clearly for herself.
Instead, what happened was largely whispers, pressure campaigns, assumptions, investigations, indirect warnings, and attacks directed at me while withholding this supposed “evidence” from the very woman they claimed to be protecting.
That contradiction is impossible to ignore.
And honestly, at some point it stops looking like protection and starts looking like narrative management.
If The Blog Is A Smear, Then Say What Is False
If the blog is supposedly dishonest, manipulative, hateful, or “smearing” people, then say specifically what is false.
What was fabricated?
What was taken out of context?
What was manipulated?
What was cherry picked?
Point to it directly.
Because simply repeating:
“This is dangerous.”
“This is wrong.”
“This grieves the Holy Spirit.”
“This is dishonoring.”
without actually engaging the content itself proves absolutely nothing.
Especially when much of the blog consists of:
personal experiences,
healing reflections,
faith discussions,
counseling insights,
boundary discussions,
and direct quotes from actual communications.
A vague accusation is not evidence.
Moral outrage is not evidence.
Selective Bible verses thrown around without context are not evidence either.
The Reality About “Receipts”
And yes, we keep notes of things said.
We document conversations.
We save emails.
We preserve timelines.
We write things down while they are fresh.
Not because we are obsessed with revenge.
Not because we are building a public humiliation campaign.
And not because we enjoy conflict.
We do it because emotionally confusing or controlling situations distort reality over time.
Conversations get rewritten.
Events get minimized.
People deny things they absolutely said.
Patterns get blurred.
And after enough pressure, you start wondering if maybe you really are the problem after all.
Keeping notes helps keep us grounded in reality.
It helps us process honestly.
It helps us recognize patterns.
It helps us reflect on our own behavior too.
And it helps us avoid repeating unhealthy cycles ourselves moving forward.
And despite all the accusations toward us, most of the actual documentation is not public.
That matters too.
Because if the real goal was humiliation, revenge, exposure, or destruction, far more could have been posted publicly a long time ago.
Instead, most of what we keep is used privately for:
processing,
healing,
reflection,
counseling,
accountability,
and understanding patterns clearly enough so we stop repeating them ourselves.
The documentation exists far more as protection against denial, gaslighting, confusion, and rewritten history than as ammunition.
That distinction matters.
The Irony Is Incredible
There is also a pretty incredible irony underneath all of this.
The people criticizing us for speaking publicly are often the same people threatening to expose, screenshot, record, document, and publicly shame others themselves.
Statements like:
“I’ve recorded and screenshotted EVERYTHING.”
“I could easily put it all on a website.”
“Scrub the blog.”
“If Greg repents then maybe I’ll talk to him.”
That is not the language of peace.
That is not reconciliation.
That is not emotional maturity.
And it certainly does not sound like healing.
It sounds like intimidation dressed up as righteousness.
Especially when “repentance” seems to mean:
be quiet,
remove your story,
accept our version of events,
submit to our judgment,
and disappear publicly.
That is not Biblical reconciliation.
That is control.
And honestly, the irony is hard to miss:
the people accusing us of escalating conflict are often the ones escalating it the hardest.
KD Is Not Voiceless
I also think part of the issue is that some people fundamentally cannot accept that KD is capable of thinking for herself.
They assume she is fragile.
Naive.
Unable to discern.
Unable to recognize manipulation.
Unable to hear from God clearly.
Unable to evaluate people herself.
So instead of respecting her agency, the strategy becomes:
attack Greg,
create fear,
create urgency,
create doubt,
apply pressure,
and hope she eventually runs back home scared enough to surrender her own judgment.
But KD is not voiceless.
She is not brainwashed.
She is not incapable of discernment.
She is an intelligent adult woman who spent a long time praying, thinking, struggling, seeking counsel, and trying to survive emotionally while still loving her family.
She repeatedly expressed wanting peace, healing, counseling, boundaries, and healthier communication.
She openly described finally feeling relief after leaving an environment that had become emotionally exhausting and anxiety producing.
Those are not the words of someone blindly spiraling.
Those are the words of someone trying to survive emotionally and spiritually.
Direction Matters
And while all of this has been happening, what have we actually been doing?
Writing.
Reflecting.
Going to counseling.
Praying.
Learning.
Trying to become healthier individually and together.
Trying to calm ourselves instead of escalating.
Trying to understand trauma, family systems, and unhealthy relational patterns better.
Are we perfect? No.
Have emotions shown through at times? Absolutely.
But direction matters.
And the overall direction of our lives has consistently moved toward:
more peace,
more honesty,
more accountability,
more emotional maturity,
more self awareness,
more faith,
and healthier relationships.
That looks very different from rage disguised as righteousness.
Because there is a massive difference between:
“Here is how we are healing and growing”
and
“Here is why this person should be feared.”
One produces healing.
The other produces fear.
And eventually people have to ask themselves which one actually looks more like Christ.
